About this deal
Theodore Roosevelt Island is one of the secret memorials in Washington DC that most tourists and many locals miss visiting. It is different than the other memorials on the National Mall since the Theodore Roosevelt Memorial is set in natural surroundings. The island was designed and landscaped to mimic the native forest that originally covered the island. The Theodore Roosevelt Memorial Plaza is beautiful with fountains and benches shaded by native hardwood trees. At the center of the Plaza is a 17 foot tall statue of Theodore Roosevelt. The island is a relaxing oasis of nature on the Potomac River between Washington DC and Rosslyn, Virginia.
